It seems that atheists are becoming more and more vocal, especially on the internet, yet you never seem to hear from deists.
As a deist, I believe atheism is flawed. We have all of these laws put in place by nature. Newton's laws of motion, Ohm's law, the law of gravity, etc. Atheists are convinced that these laws just came to be on their own as the universe developed on its own but I feel it happened in the reverse.
Wouldn't it make more sense that someone put all of these laws and rules into place in a vacuum and introduced some matter to see what would happen?

Can you explain more in detail about deist? I don't think that all Atheists feel that way, and it seems they Athesists tend to get a bad rap because of some groups of people on the internet. Some Atheists just don't believe there is a "higher power". What is the difference between that and a deist?

I agree. I don't believe that everything that's happening and happened so far on earth is completely by accident, What's to say the "big bang" wasn't the result of a higher powers doing? Or that evolution is in fact an 'intelligent design'?

I'm more of an agnostic but I have full belief in deism - as the poster above me said, it's hard to believe that everything that has ever happened was simply by accident. What irks me is when peoples views get so narrow and tunnel-visioned that they discount anything that doesn't fall within their belief system. I think having a more open mind, such as what deism and agnosticism are about, is the correct approach and the most logical approach.

I have never heard the term deism before. I too would like to know more about it. I think open minds are critical no matter what you believe because as of now there is no right philosophy only faith and knowledge.

Atheists are incapable of reason... that's why they're atheists. Reason comes at the foot of the Father; God being infinite reason... Thus atheism exists outside of reason.
What you need to understand is that atheism is nothing more than secular humanism... it's evil's rationalization which serves to obfuscate final judgment. If there is no God, then there will be no final judgment; thus 'everything is relative' and one can do as one pleases without concern for whether or not what ever it is, is morally right; this because while secular humanism likes to refer to morality and the idiocy that one can be moral and not 'religious,' they can never seem to explain how that might work... this is very simply because they IT CAN'T BE EXPLAINED...

No, atheists are definitely not incapable of "reason." They simply reason differently than others in a religion, just like a Buddhist reasons different than a Witch.
In regards to you saying that it is "idiocy" that religion and morals can co-exist, I would like to hear your reasoning on that.
I am not a religious person, but I would absolutely go out of my way for anyone in need, I volunteer, and am an all around good person
